Catherine St. #14

Two-bedroom in Two Bridges, $2,500/month ($1,250 per person)

If you're as much of a sucker for exposed brick as the average New Yorker, peep these renovated digs. Judging by the pics, at least one of the bedrooms is large enough for an adult-size bed (very luxurious for downtown Manhattan), and there's loads of closet space. Plus, a dishwasher is among the stainless-steel appliances, for those rare occasions when you aren't enticed by the neighborhoods endless Chinese takeout options.

E 3rd St. Apt. E

Two-bedroom in the East Village, $3,500/month ($1,750 per person)

Ordinarily this apartment wouldn't pass our affordable litmus test, but throw an extra wall up in that massive living room and rent plummets to $1,167 per roomie, without compromising comfort. The space features a washer–dryer and a marble bathroom, and shared amenities include bike storage and a roof deck. But the real kicker? It's rent controlled. Swoon.
