Before there was a Barclays Center, a Soho House or pastry shops attracting block-long lines, New York's charm lied in its monumental skyscrapers, storied cultural institutions and unwavering loyalty to hometown sports teams. London-based news and entertainment archive British Pathé recently uploaded its entire collection of 85,000 videos to YouTube, many of which offer a glimpse into the city's past; check out these ten for a virtual trip back in time.
