Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg launch outdoors April 5

Hooray! The venerable alfresco markets are returning in less than two weeks, which must mean that spring is here. Right?

Believe it or not, warmer weather is coming, warm enough that sometime soon we may even want to stand outside and chow down on a ramen burger. Maybe  less than two weeks from today! That's what the folks behind Smorgasburg and the Brooklyn Flea are banking on, at least; the food and shopping markets are planning to make their seasonal outdoor debut the weekend of April 5 and 6.

As previously mentioned, the Sunday Brooklyn Flea in Williamsburg will not return to East River Park. Its new location has not been announced yet, but you can shop the bazaar's vintage and crafty goods in Fort Greene on Saturdays and in Park Slope on both weekend days. Smorgasburg, however, is remaining in Williamsburg on Saturdays, as well as Brooklyn Bridge Park on Sundays, and both editions are bringing along plenty of new gourmet offerings, from fresh mushroom varieties to mushroom-shaped meringues.

C'mon, spring!
