Hey, BK ladies—have you long bemoaned the slim pickings in your borough, even when dating apps and websites promise plenty of options? You're not alone: New data from AYI shows that women in Kings County are the least likely to answer messages from men online. (Other cities with selective Internet daters include Detroit and Los Angeles.) On the bright side, Jersey City is just a 27-minute PATH ride from midtown, and females residing there are much more likely to respond to online approaches. (Same with Miami and Las Vegas, FYI.)

For more insight on romance in the city, pick up a copy of our annual dating issue, which hits stands September 26. We polled 1,600 New Yorkers about online dating, sexting, relationships and plenty more. Plus, there will be first-date planning recommendations and advice on how to meet people offline (yes, it still happens). In the meantime, let us know what you think of the above stats in the comments. Why are Brooklyn women are so picky? Is it us, or are dudes in NYC—specifically Kings County—particularly atrocious?
