Christmas Cats TV is a thing you need to watch

If you feel weird about spending your day watching a holiday-themed live-stream of cats, it helps the North Shore Animal League

On this dreary, drizzly, gray Friday, we highly recommend that you take a few moments to tune in to Christmas Cats TV. What is it? Well, there's a grandma knitting and occasionally taking swigs from a flask; there's a guy in elf ears who occasionally looks put-upon; and most importantly, there are cats in Christmas sweaters scampering around. (Okay, they're not scampering as much as sleeping, but it's cute all the same.)

The live-stream, which has been going since Wednesday, is a promotional gambit for Legacy Recordings—you'll hear Christmas tunes from Elvis, Barry Manilow and others who've put out holiday albums on the label—but the company also partnered with the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington, Long Island, to help the shelter adopt out some of its kitties. So your procrastination is for a good cause!

You can find the stream here (it'll be going through the end of the day), and follow along with it on Twitter. If you'd like to make a donation to the North Shore Animal League—or possibly adopt one of its cats—visit the org's website.
