Eight other celebrities who do performance art (slide show)

Yep, Jay-Z is filming a six-hour music video in Chelsea today. But he's not the only famous person to do performance art.

As we reported a few hours ago, today Jay-Z stormed a Chelsea gallery to record the music video for "Picasso Baby." Hova invited a few of his friends—artists, celebs, curators and the like—to help him out. Yeah, it's kinda cool that he danced with Marina Abramovic or whatever, but Jay's not the only famous person to dip his toes into the performance-art world. From Björk donning her infamous swan dress to the National performing "Sorrow" for six hours straight, check out eight other celebs getting straight interdisciplinary on us.

Though one could argue that any celebrity getting arrested to call attention to themselves constitutes a form of performance art (ahem, Mel Gibson! Amanda Bynes!), we're limiting our list to more, um, artistic pursuits. Did we miss anyone? Let us know!
