Fancy bathrooms costing $8 a day on the horizon for NYC

A company is promising clean toilets—plus lockers, showers and more—in midtown as early as this summer, albeit for a hefty fee

Is there a market for high-end bathrooms in New York City? One company thinks so. Posh Stow and Go is planning to open members-only complexes across the city featuring toilets, lockers, storage rooms, showers, baby-changing stations, and lounge areas with couches and phone-charging stations. According to its website, the spaces will be "immaculately clean" and soundproof.

Sounds pretty great, right? Before you get too excited, here's the catch—the service costs $6 to $8 a day, depending on how many days you sign up for, in addition to a $15 yearly joining fee. The prices are totally obscene, but then again, the search for a decent place to pee in NYC can be as disheartening (and disgusting) as looking for an apartment on Craigslist.

The first location, in midtown near Grand Central, is expected to open in June, but the firm has designs to set up shop in lower Manhattan "near the ferries," and to open lounges for nursing mothers. What do you think, readers and on-the-go bathroom users—would you use such a service?
