Ever wondered exactly what NYC taxi drivers are privy to? Here's your chance for a peek into their all-hours shifts in which they encounter drunks, celebs, lovers, night owls, oddballs and utter bores alike. Eugene "Gene" Solamon, who's been driving a yellow cab for over 36 years (back when they were checkered vehicles), has compiled his best, most interesting and wackiest fares in his memoir, Confessions of a New York Taxi Driver, out today on HarperCollins. The veteran cabbie even claims to have had notables like Lauren Bacall, Simon and Garfunkel, and Leonardo DiCaprio in his backseat.

Watch the book trailer embedded below for a peek into his crazy world.
