Louie to return on May 5 after extended hiatus

New York comedian Louis C.K.’s sad-funny FX show is returning to the small screen this spring, with a bonus episode to boot

Yes! Not only does Louie have a concrete date for its long-awaited return, but season four will be longer than expected. First off, the newest episodes will premiere on May 5 at 10pm on FX. And it turns out that curmudgeonly creator Louis C.K.—being the overachiever that he is—submitted 14 episodes instead of the requisite 13, which we're pretty sure no one will be complaining about. As you can see in the tweet embedded below, the news was first reported by New York Times culture scribe Dave Itzkoff.

The comedy will be returning after a 19-month hiatus, and perhaps as a reward for our extended wait, FX will air two episodes each Monday night, at 10pm and 10:30pm. The seven-week run will culminate all too soon on June 16.
