  2. “Every month I try to catch at least one Off Broadway show; it’s part of my self-care thing. Right now I’m really addicted to NEWsical the Musical (newsicalthemusical.net). In the most recent version I saw, they talked about Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s baby and Obama’s health-care act.”

“In the Theater District there’s this vegetarian place called Zen Palate (663 Ninth Ave at 46th St; 212-582-1669, zenpalate.com). My favorite dish is called the South by South West. The food is so good and it’s really not that expensive. You could have dinner for two for under $40 and eat really well.”

  4. “There’s this little hole in the wall called Trufa (3431 Broadway between 139th and 140th Sts, 646-522-4142) with maybe five tables in total. They make their own pasta—the spinach ravioli ($11) is so good. And they have great red and white sangria ($5).”

  5. “I like to try different cuisines, so I love going to this Cuban place, Havana Central (2911 Broadway between 113th and 114th Sts; 212-662-8830, havanacentral.com). On the weekends there’s live salsa music and a good crowd—not too old, not too young.”
