Photo of the day: Bill de Blasio’s selfie with the press

While enjoying the gorgeous day yesterday, the mayor held an impromptu chat with reporters and even shared a selfie with them

It seems no one is immune to the draw of taking selfies—not even our mayor. Yesterday afternoon, Bill de Blasio took a meeting outside to enjoy the glorious weather and paced around City Hall with his counsel Maya Wiley. The one-on-one chat evolved into an informal sit-down right on the building's steps with curious reporters circling nearby, culminating in a photo op taken by the mayor himself. “Group in more, people,” he told the press corps before snapping the selfie.

In related news, a new survey from TIME says New York City is the second selfiest city in the world with "202 selfie takers per 100,000 people." We were only outranked by Makati City (part of metropolitan Manila) in the Philippines, which can now call itself the selfie capital of the world.
