Photoville is back in its 11th year, its third year bringing photography to every borough of
New York City. The free, outdoor, pet-friendly photography exhibition is heading to NYC Parks in the summer for the first time in 10 years. You won't want to miss this year's Photoville because it is packed with 60 free exhibits outside between June 4 and June 26, including panel discussions, interactive workshops, one-on-one safety clinics, professional development opportunities with Diversify Photo and Leica Camera, Photo Wings and the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
Where is Photoville this year?
Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn Commons, Domino Park, Floyd Bennett Field, and Prospect Park in Brooklyn; Alice Austen House and the South Beach Promenade in Staten Island; Times Square, Hudson Yards/Bella Abzug Park, Coleman Playground, and St. Nicholas Park in Manhattan; Travers Park and Astoria Park in Queens; and Van Cortlandt Park and Barretto Point Park in the Bronx.
What events can you attend at Photoville this year?
- One-on-one safety clinics presented in partnership with the ACOS Alliance, the Committee to Protect Journalists and Leica Camera, with advisors from Buzzfeed, Dow Jones, the New York Times, Freedom of the Press Foundation, and more (June 15, 16, and 17; applications due May 28);
- professional development workshops with Diversify Photo, with support from Leica Camera (June 21, 22, and 23), featuring discussions with members of Queering The Lens, Authority Collective, Bronx Women Photographers and other collectives; and with photographers including Carolyn Fong, Tara Pixley, Idris Solomon and others;
- and Education Days on June 8 and 10.
