Here in Manhattan, New Yorkers needs to have at least 2 TerraBytes inside their heads as the never-ending flow of events, parades, rallies, concerts, street fairs, nightlifes, fashionistas, shopaholics, cineistas,yogis, make life in this city extraordinarily intense, stressful, ridiculously layedback, colorful, artistic and undeniably easy to re-invent- which is essential in understanding John Lennon when he said that 'New York is another country'. New Yorkers don't need a 'bucket list' as life in this city is so engrossing, too fulfilling -the 'ahh' and 'ugh' sides of urban life is always taken with either a grain of salt or with a happy thought that things will be better next time. Most New Yorkers live life the way it should be lived: Simple and Happy - that includes even those suffering from a serious case of 'Empty Wallet Disorder'. Cheers to NYC! I had been living upstate in a real rural area ,and had to for different reasons take a trip downstate.One of the reasons was to satisfy something inside me ,for my New Yorker soul food came into the plan as well as just walking the street .My wife and I opted for Chinatown Wo-Op (Hong Fat of course is closed ) ,then pastry not Ferrara's we walked got hungry again either go to Vincents ? (Il Puglias is too upscale now ) .We wound up in Katz's there's where I heard it ...the New York accent ,laugh,attitude..There were transit workers,African ,Chinese,Jewish PuertoRican New Yorker's one black woman said that whenever she visits home from L.A. she comes here and before she goes back. My New York is to also listen to Ray Barreto ,Sinatra, (King Pleasure ) and a few others in the summer with out the air on . I'm going to Manhattan again soon and get on the train (subway) go to the museum of Natural History and think of the chestnut venders and Moondog and mention it to my son one more friggin time.
