The long-planned Whole Foods in Gowanus is teaming with Arts Gowanus to bring local arty happenings to the store. Set to open December 17, the grocery giant will showcase its relationship with the longtime Brooklyn nonprofit from the get-go, as artists from the community greet shoppers and tell them about the ’hood on opening day. The space will also display local creations such as the work of Twig Terrariums down the street.

What's more, Whole Foods will offer free drink-and-draw classes in its rooftop bar. Each monthly session will be taught by a different artist affiliated with Arts Gowanus. Gratis drawing classes, with craft beer to boot? Sign us up.
