The already-stacked Live from the NYPL fall 2013 season just got even better: This morning, the folks behind the excellent discussion series announced "Exploring Paramount Records." Jack White will join eminent cultural critic Greil Marcus, brothers Scott and Dean Blackwood, and author/professor Daphne Brooks in this event delving into the history and legacy of the iconic record label, which we have to thank for key releases from Louis Armstrong, Ma Rainey and more during its brief but prolific life span. White's Nashville-based label Third Man Records and Dean Blackwood's Revenant Records just released The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records 1917–1932, which showcases some of the rich output from the label (which was improbably founded by a chair company).

The event will take place at the NYPL on Tuesday, November 19, at 7pm. Tickets just went on sale at noon today and include a free 78rpm record pressed exclusively for the event with two "fiery sermons" from Paramount's inventory. Go to NYPL's website for more information and to book your spot.
