The controversial pop star served up her “We Can’t Stop” single with a political twist on Saturday night.

So it looks like after her twerk-happy VMA performance, mortifying debacle with Sinéad O'Connor and extremely NSFW Terry Richardson photo shoot, Miley Cyrus has sorta, kinda redeemed herself. The 20-year-old popstrel hosted and performed on Saturday Night Live this weekend, poking fun at her "Wrecking Ball" video, visiting with "Old Miley" from the future and sticking her tongue out countless times. ("I'm having tiny strokes, yo!" she explained at last.)

Cyrus also joked about her former alter ego, stating that Hannah Montana was murdered, but the best skit of the night was no doubt her spoof on the government shutdown. Her single "We Can't Stop" turned into "We Did Stop (The Government)," and the accompanying video sees her playing Michele Bachmann who spanks Uncle Sam.…Actually, there are no words, so we recommend watching the clip embedded below.
