Watch Saturday Night Live's horror-flick spoof of Wes Anderson movies

SNL imagined what a scary movie directed by Wes Anderson would look like, with extremely accurate (and funny) results.

It's unlikely that indie auteur Wes Anderson will ever direct a horror film (stranger things have happened, surely, but…nah, we can't see it). But if the director ever did try crafting at a scary movie, it might look a bit like The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders, a faux-trailer that debuted on last night's episode of Saturday Night Live.

The spoof essentially mashed up the cast of The Royal Tenenbaums (host Edward Norton played the Owen Wilson character) and other Andersonian tropes—precocious kids! old-timey props! that font!—with a horror-flick plot to create "a tale of handmade horror." It was basically perfect. Check out the hilarious clip below.
