The venerable Off Broadway company, founded in 1985 by David Mamet and William H. Macy, operates out of a brick-lined former church. (It also maintains a second, smaller space called Atlantic Stage 2.) In recent years, the troupe has presented new work by Mamet, John Guare, Martin McDonagh, Craig Lucas, Jez Butterworth and Ethan Coen, as well as the musical Spring Awakening.
