They say that the stage loves to make love to the camera. That’s certainly the case with Cineastas. Formerly a film director and screenwriter, Mariano Pensotti brings his background in cinema to bear on his new play, which tells the story of four Argentinian filmmakers trying to make separate films in Buenos Aires. Pensotti combines live performance with recorded footage to bring to life the joys and pains of the filmmaking process, and explore the relationship between director and subject.
