Mutemath hails from New Orleans, but you won't detect much Big Easy spirit in the band’s slick, expansive electro-rock. Their’s is a harder sound than the usual indie-pop shtick, a melange of varied influences from DJ Shadow to Björk. Their most recent work veers from Black Keys-esque blues stomps to the Krautrock-inflected rhythm mantras of latterday Radiohead. Should work well live.
