Comme à la Maison

Comme a la Maison is a cheap and cheerful Italian restaurant on Boulevard Saint Denis in Paris 3rd arrondissement. That ‘comme a la maison’ means ‘just like home’, you probably know. Of course, it depends what kind of house you grew up in. But if it was a relatively cosy lamp-lit space where everyone ate at plain dark wood tables covered in red table cloths, and your mum was a dab hand at Italian cooking, then you might well feel at home. Penne alla calabresse, linguine alla puttenesca, beef lasagne, pizza… most of the Italian classics are here. Finish off with an espresso on the terrace.
