Zo restaurant in Paris’ iconic 8th arrondissement is the local canteen for politicians, businessmen, fashionistas and ladies who lunch – and a cool, exotic canteen it is, too. Inspired by a trip from Dakar to Bali, the décor includes dark wood furnishings, pools of flattering light, elephant-themed and tribal artworks, grass shades. The menu is exotic, too, a grand tour through France, Italy and Japan, with dishes like mozzarella beignets, penne with truffle cream, rocket and parmesan, Argentinian beef steaks, and a full sushi menu. Bright and sparkling at lunchtime, the dining room takes on a more chilled and romantic ambience in the evenings. Very trendy, very now.
