The last of Shakespeare's great political tragedies chronicles the life of the legendary Roman general, Caius Marcius. When an old adversary threatens Rome, the city calls once more on Marcius to be her hero and defender, bestowing on him the honorary title of Coriolanus. But when Coriolanus seeks political power, his arrogant pride turns the common people against him and he is exiled from Rome. In seeking retribution, Coriolanus forges alliances that will lead to his downfall.

Thanks to the generous support of the Mindaroo Foundation, WAAPA is able to welcome back acclaimed British actor/director Michael Jenn (The Trial, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui) to direct Shakespeare’s searing tragedy of political manipulation and revenge.
