City of Perth says
David Attwood and the City of Perth invite the public to attend the one night only closing exhibition of Do It For Free.

Do it For Free is a temporary public artwork in the form of a shoe exchange. Between October 13 and October 28 one hundred pairs of Nike Air Max 90 sneakers will be given away to one hundred members of the public in exchange for the shoes on their feet. The artwork will exist as an imagined constellation of Air Max sneakers traversing Perth’s urban environment.

Do It For Free will conclude with a one night only public exhibition of the one hundred pairs of collected second hand shoes, alongside documentation of the Air Max exchange, to be held within the Do It For Free sneaker store. The collected second hand shoes will finally be donated to Homeless Connect Perth

There will be no shoes given away at the closing exhibition.

Do It For Free is a public artwork by artist David Attwood, commissioned by the City of Perth as part of the TRANSART 2016 program.

David Attwood would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which this project takes place and to recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
