Philly Rising

Just wanted to invite you all to Philly Rising (The Monday Night Open Stage Event) @ World Cafe Live. All genres and bands are welcome. Each act plays one to two songs. Standout performers will be selected to perform at Philly Rising Best of February Showcase. The winner of that becomes the standout performer of the month and wins a prize package that includes one song (3 Hours) recorded at Cambridge Sound Studios, a spin on 93.7 WSTW, and a featured spot at a Future Philly Rising Event. The monthly standout will also perform Downstairs @ World Cafe Live as part of the end of the year showcase. The standout performer for the year wins a prize pack that includes a 4-5 song EP Package From Cambridge Sound Studios, a Downstairs Show @ World Cafe Live and a guest host spot on WSTW's Hometown Heroes Show Performance slots come on a first come first served basis. The Open mic will get underway at 7:00 this evening with sign ups starting at 6:30. There will only be four slots available for performers that perform to pre-recorded tracks, which will give more room for live performers. So if you're a musican, band, poet, comedian, etc. or know someone who is come out and have some fun. For those of you who may be looking for other musicians to round out your lineup it's a great place to network. We now have a full backline provided by 8th Street Music so bands feel free to come down with your instruments, effects, snare and cymbals
