The Philadelphia Rube Goldberg Machine Contest: Erase A Chalkboard

***The competition will take place inside Tinton Gym. Doors will open at 10:30 am to spectators. Judging will commence shortly thereafter.*** The First Annual Philadelphia Rube Goldberg Machine Contest will take place at Friends’ Central on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Middle school and high school students from the Philadelphia region will compete to build the best Rube Goldberg machine that accomplishes the assigned task: Erase a chalkboard. The winning team in each division will win a $1,000 cash prize. The event is open to the public and free to attend. Concessions will be available. Free face painting and activities for younger children. The Philadelphia Rube Goldberg Machine Contest was founded by Victor Fiorillo and is program of CultureTrust Greater Philadelphia, an independent charitable trust supporting arts and heritage programs of diverse disciplines and cultural traditions. Rube Goldberg Philadelphia is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit initiative. The high school division of our machine contest qualifies a winning team to participate in the national Rube Goldberg Machine Contest, held in April of each year.
