Our artists: Doug Robertson Although a native of Tucson, Arizona, phoenix has been my home since 1994. I was drawn to whittling sticks since the age of 5 years old; and have had a knife or two in my pocket ever since. Knife and sword making have been of interest throughout the years. Sharpening is an art and a mandatory skill for a woodcarver. Whittling evolved into woodcarving through practice and classes with master carvers countrywide. I’ve carved many woodchips and decorative firewood as a hobbyist. Christmas ornaments and Santa’s became annual requests from friends and family. I enjoy carving on table tops, mirror frames and headboards. But…don’t ask me to cut a straight line. That’s for wood workers. Carving Comfort birds out of bass and exotic woods has become a spiritual healing ministry. Each comfort bird is filled with loving vibrations as I recite over and over the Hawaiian clearing : ho’oponopono mantra: thank you, I love you while carving and smoothing the bird. Comfort birds are a perfect gift for someone feeling depressed, lonely, frightened with illness or just needing a friend. Annie B (Rattle Can Annie) Spray Paint Artist After dabbling in other art mediums including ceramics, charcoal and pencil sketches, oil painting, and graphic art, I stumbled upon spray paint art (rattle can art) through a YouTube video. After trying it once, I was hooked. I love the industrial, primitive aspect of using spray paint and everyday items to create art. It is great fun, and I hope people enjoy viewing my pieces as much as I enjoy creating them. Our third artist: Brujita Enchanted (by Brujita) is a line created by myself (and a secret worldly helper) of individually preserved and treated blossoms that have been bloomed in the light of the full moon, processed according to their specific needs, and gently coaxed into becoming pieces of works of art that encompass the energy and characteristics of their multifarious senses. Infused with aroma therapy quality 100% pure essential oil in an intentional manner... We principally use precious and semi precious soft metals to form our mold-able crowns. We use hand finished satin and ribbons, and either true gems and pearls or recycled vintage costume remnants... All other materials are purchased as locally or privately as possible.
