City Skate Grand Opening & Tree Lighting says
CITYSKATE Presented by Arizona Public Service - APS

Come kick off the holiday skating season at the official grand opening and tree lighting ceremony!

Join us for an evening of fun activities, appearances by favorite movie characters, and special performances by Phoenix’s top performing arts organizations including the The Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, Herberger Theater Center, All Puppet Players and Valley Youth Theatre.

New this year: We'll have interactive, selfie-worthy holiday décor placed throughout CityScape (think massive lighted presents that you can walk through!). Plus, Artlink Phoenix will have art installations on display from local artists.

Grab a cup of hot cocoa from the Hot Chocolate Bar hosted by Copper Blues and operated by various Arizona nonprofits with a portion of the proceeds going to that non-profit.

The grand opening celebration will feature a full night of live music and entertainment, photos with Santa, and much more. Open skate will be available from 3:30pm-11pm.

For the seventh year in a row, close to 200,000 holiday revelers will descend upon CityScape Phoenix starting Nov. 26 to take part in the seven weeks of CitySkate, the Valley’s largest and most popular real outdoor ice rink, presented by APS.

Central Avenue is transformed into an ice skater’s dream with a massive 36-foot holiday tree dramatically placed in the center of the rink along with hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights. Santa will make an appearance every, Saturday and Sunday for FREE photos from 4pm until 8pm.
