Discover how the acclaimed mid-century modern designer, Harry Bertoia, drew inspiration from the rural landscape of the small village of San Lorenzo where he grew up through first-hand stories. His daughter, Celia Bertoia, shares how the nature of Italy influenced his psyche and his work.

The Best of Italy Salon Series
Whether it’s the way of dressing, or way of eating, a fine wine, or modern furniture design there is a common spirit found in Italian culture. The Best of Italy series is designed to foster a greater understanding of the distinguishing characteristics of craftsmanship and ideas that give cache to “made in Italy.” These illustrated talks will focus on design, construction, technology, business, marketing strategies and current events.

Lectures are free and open to the public
