Palo Verde & Ironwood Presentation: Edible Tree Series says
Did you know that you can eat from Palo Verde and Ironwood trees?

It's true! Palo verde trees are well known as being the Arizona state tree but their beans are one of our desert's edible treasures. The beans are high in protein content and rich in vitamin A.
Ironwood trees are native to the Sonoran desert and are named for their wood and grey bark. Ironwood trees are also legume trees and their beautiful pink flowers and seeds are both edible.

Come learn from presenter Kelly Athena (an avid tree harvester and Master Gardener) on how to identify these trees and how to harvest, store, process and cook from their flowers, seeds, and pods. This is an onsite presentation designed to help you harvest from the Palo Verde and Ironwood trees you might have in your yard or neighborhood.
