[USG] Undergraduate Student Government @ ASU says
Laverne Cox will be speaking at ASU on Wednesday, April 8th at Wells Fargo Arena! Presented by [USG] Undergraduate Student Government @ ASU] in partnership with the Council of Coalitions as a part of Pride Week at ASU.

Laverne Cox is an outspoken transgender advocate, Cox is the first trans-woman to produce and star in her own television show, TRANSForm Me, appear on the cover of TIME Magazine [June 9, 2014] and to be nominated for an EMMY. She is also the first trans-woman of color to have a leading role on a mainstream scripted television show, Orange Is the New Black, where she plays the role as Sophia Burset.

In addition to her critically acclaimed work as an actress, Laverne has traveled the country speaking about moving beyond gender expectations to live more authentically. Additionally, she uses and encourages an intersectional approach to critically engage with our stories.

This event is *free* to ASU students, faculty, and staff. Just arrive at the event with your ASU ID - no reservations or tickets are required.
