Join the Phoenix Zoo on Saturday, August 13 as we celebrate World Elephant Day!

Meet elephant zookeepers, find out about elephant adaptations and learn how you can participate in elephant conservation. And watch as Reba, one of our Asian elephants, cools off with a shower from the Phoenix Fire Department.

Games & Activities

- Help us get the Guinness World Record for creating the most origami elephants to help raise awareness for elephant conservation!
- Learn how to paint like an elephant wearing a tube sock on your arm as an elephant trunk
- Make an elephant puppet
- Learn more about Asian & African elephants and hear fun facts about our 3 elephants here with a trivia game
- Meet & greets with firefighters from the Phoenix Fire Department and watch them shower our Asian elephant Reba with water at 9:30 a.m.
- Conservation Booths

Zookeeper talks at 8:15 am & 10:15 am
- Learn about the 96 Elephants Campaign
- Enjoy elephant care & adaptation stations
- Write a letter to Zambian rangers to thank them for preserving wild African elephants
