THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT. WE WILL NOT BE SELLING TICKETS AT THE DOOR.

Celebrate the opening of Carnegie Museum of Art’s Silver to Steel: The Modern Designs of Peter Muller-Munk with a 60s-inspired cocktail party. Featuring live music by The Hi-Frequencies and delicious pastries, tunes spun by DJ Gordy, classic libations, hors d'oeuvres, and 60s games (Twister, anyone?), Mad Men & Martinis is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the world of Peter Muller-Munk, set among period advertisements showcasing his popular product designs. Vintage attire is strongly encouraged.

Enjoy a martini and exclusive, early access to Silver to Steel, the untold story of a German émigré who rose from anonymity as a young silversmith at Tiffany & Co. in New York to become one of the preeminent industrial designers of the 50s and 60s from his bustling Pittsburgh office.

Beginning with Muller-Munk’s remarkable modernist silver, Silver to Steel also features his best-known designs: the streamlined Normandie pitcher and Waring skyscraper-inspired blender. The exhibition also showcases his previously undocumented work: cameras, radios, cocktail shakers, power tools, and refrigerators; and total environments for gas stations, corporate headquarters, international expositions, and mass-transit vehicles.

This is an 18+ event. Cash bar.

Culture Club is sponsored by Great Lakes Brewing Company, Bill Few Associates, and Pittsburgh City Paper.

Mad Men & Martinis is sponsored by Port Authority of Allegheny County, Tito's Handmade Vodka and Retro on 8th.
