In The Studio is an informal meet & greet series with local and national choreographers and performers. In the hopes of opening new lines of communication, we invite you to join in conversation with renowned artists as they share intimate insights into their world of making dance. Wine and Cheese will be served.

Our first guests will be Donald Byrd & Beth Corning sharing insights into their upcoming March 29 th premiere of WHAT’S MISSING

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

DONALD BYRD is known as much for his work on Broadway (THE COLOR PURPLE), as for his extensive catalogue of work made not only for his own award winning company Donald Byrd/The Group, but also for companies around the world, including his iconic work THE HARLEM NUTCRACKER. He has been commissioned by such companies as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco), Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, Aterballetto, MaggioDanza diFirenze,and Oregon Ballet Theater, among others. THE GLUE FACTORY PROJECT is the umbrella for Cornings’ full-evening length dance theater productions created for critically renowned performers over the age of 40. Works that explore mature themes and subject matter, highlighting the mastery of mature renowned artists, who bring nuance, subtlety, and a deep sense of humanity to each work.
