Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra says
Come hear the sounds of the summer as played by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in the beautiful Elsie H. Hillman Auditorium at Kaufmann Center. Opening this one-hour concert will be the familiar and gorgeous Concerto for Flute and Harp by Mozart featuring soloists from the Pittsburgh Symphony. Samuel Barber’s work Knoxville: Summer of 1915 will take you to a scene of summer in Knoxville, Tennessee from the perspective of a young boy, complete with rocking chairs, chatter on porches and barefoot children frolicking in the evening in spacious backyards. Performed back-to-back, two exuberant works close the program — Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons in Buenos Aires — and will surely make you want six more weeks of summer! Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. All proceeds benefit the Hill House Association.
