Carnegie Museum of Art says
Don’t miss this opportunity to hone your writing skills with renowned Iraqi-born poet and author Dunya Mikhail. Students in this workshop will create poems using the evocative photographs from the exhibition She Who Tells a Story: Women Photographers from Iran and the Arab World for inspiration. Mikhail, using forms such as reportage, fable, and lyric, addresses themes of war, exile, censorship, and loss. Mikhail will guide students through writing exercises and prompts designed to stimulate creative thinking. Students will receive some prompts from Mikhail prior to the class.

Writers with some experience in poetry forms are preferred. Limited to 15 participants. Co-sponsored by City of Asylum.
