Pandemic Dance Party says
The Warhol welcomes Songhoy Blues on their first North American tour. This young West African “desert blues” band takes their name from the Songhoy people of Mali. Band members Oumar Touré, Aliou Touré, Garba Touré and Nathanial “Nat” Dembele grew up keenly interested in American hip hop and R&B and cite B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Ali Farka Toure as key influences. Their debut album Music in Exile, was produced by Nick Zimmer of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and they are also featured in the documentary They Will Have To Kill Us First: Malian Music In Exile which premiered South By Southwest Film Festival 2015.
