The Writing Pittsburgh project is an opportunity for Pittsburgh writers to share their stories about the city with a national audience. We’re planning a series of books and events that will tell the real story of modern Pittsburgh’s rise to national prominence and provide networking and publishing opportunities for local writers and the area’s literary community.

Writing Pittsburgh kicks off with an informative and entertaining evening of live storytelling: Join us at the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall in Oakland as community leaders, activists, entrepreneurs, and artists tell true stories about the creative, forward thinking, and inspirational happenings going on in their neighborhoods. Plus, learn more about how to pitch a story for the book and—if you’re feeling brave—put your name in for the open mic portion of the evening. Plus, mix and mingle after the event with program participants, editors, and others.

This event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required.
