Boom Arts says
You love Hip Hop music. But do you know where it came from? Experience the musical and social history out of which Hip Hop emerged in this family-friendly performance by acclaimed theater and Hip Hop artist and National Poetry Slam winner Dahlak Brathwaite. Beats, rhymes, and spoken word combine in this powerful performance about the intersection of musical form and historical struggle.

This one-time performance is recommended for ages 7 and up. It is presented in conjunction with Boom Arts' presentation of Spiritrials by Dahlak Brathwaite, which contains mature language and is recommended for high school and above, running evenings at Disjecta April 21-30. Information and tickets for that event can be found at www.boomarts.org.
