Rob Johnston has been a fixture of the Portland local music scene for years. With his open-arms approach toward a community of musicians in Portland he has gained a lot of friends who are now gathering to support him during his unexpected health crisis. Recently Rob Johnston was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

His band and close friends have decided to assist in the way they know best--through music--and organized a series of concert events. Starting the concert series at his band’s 2015 residency venue, The White Eagle Tavern, with three concert events in recent weeks, bands that have been guests at his shows have performed in support of Rob. Attendees have offered financial support, and the venue has paid their fee to the fund created to support Rob’s healthcare costs. The Secret Society concert completes the slate for January.

Also, a Go Fund Me page has been created to collect money for his fund at gofundme.com/loverobjohnston.

Event date and location: Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 6 pm at Secret Society, 116 NE Russell Street, Portland, Oregon (503) 493-3600.
