Bee Thinking says
Here at Bee Thinking, we’re familiar with enlisting the invertebrate workforce to sustainably increase garden productivity. Healthy gardens start with healthy soils, and no one knows soil like a Red Wriggler. These worms preserve our ecosystems by turning food scraps and organic waste into nutrient rich soil conditioner.

Join Bee Thinking and Schoolyard Farms for a composting and worm bin workshop. Each participant will leave with their very own worm bin, and all the information needed to harness this productivity for your home gardens.

We will cover:
• Essential composting concepts
• How to get started
• Troubleshooting
• Using compost
• Worm composting
• Build your own worm bin to take home

Schoolyard Farms is a Portland-based nonprofit that partners with public K-12 schools to build working farms on their underused schoolyards. They are dedicated to teaching kids where their food comes from and how to grow it and cook it, so they can grow up to be healthy food citizens.

All proceeds from this workshop will go directly to Schoolyard Farms to support their noble mission.

This workshop is free to attend for all children 12 years of age or under.
