We Are Better Together so invite tons of friends and groups to this page and the Official Don't Shoot Portland page. Thanks for your Solidarity!

For this week's meeting, we'll be attending a special screening of The Throwaways, an award winning documentary and forum on racial profiling and mass incarceration. "With rawness, urgency and power, the film speaks directly to the national movement rising up to fight back against a wave of police killings of black people in America. Timely and provocative, The Throwaways is more just than an illumination of marginalized people at their weakest moments; it is a call to action, a story of directly engaging in the fight for justice." This documentary is only showing in Portland on Sunday night. After the screening, there will be a Q&A, and a panel forum will lead a discussion with the audience on this issue. JoAnn Hardesty, as a representative of the local NAACP, Patrnership for Safety and Justice, Oregon Jericho, Portland ABC and Don't Shoot Portland are cosponsors of this event. Glenn Waco, Marcus Cooper and Isaiah Spriggson from Don't Shoot Portland and JoAnn Hardesty, president of the Portland NAACP chapter will be on this panel."

Please join #DontShootPDX for this important, can't miss event.

The Throwaways will be presented Sunday evening at 7pm at the The Clinton Street Theater: 2522 SE Clinton St. Come early, seating is limited. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tix purchased at door only. Special admission: $10/$8 students.
