ANNUAL WALK OF THE HEROINES LECTURE
In it Together: Centering Queer & Trans People of Color in Community-based Solutions to End Violence with Kiyomi Fujikawa

Thursday May 12th, 6:00-7:30pm in SMSU 327-9

This year's keynote speaker is Kiyomi Fujikawa, the Queer Network Program Coordinator at API Chaya in Seattle. Drawing upon her work with API Chaya, Ms. Fujikawa will address these topics: How is the current criminal legal system working (or not) for Queer and Trans communities of color? How does sexual assault and intimate partner violence uniquely affect LGBT communities of color? How are our LGBTQ communities of color imagining safety, accountability, and justice for ourselves? What types of models can we organize / create / dream for the future?

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
