Mad And Moving States: A Somatic Writing Workshop says
Mad and Moving States: A Somatic Writing Workshop
with Stephanie Heit

In this workshop, we will investigate how bodymind states shift our environments and how our environments shift our bodyminds, taking inspiration from mad activism, performance research, and poetry creation. Through movement and meditation practices, we will hone our awareness and tune our senses in witnessing and free writes. Come explore new stimuli for moving, scores for writing, and ways of engaging creatively around mental health difference.

Free community class. No experience necessary. Wheelchair/disability culture friendly. Please bring materials to write with and dress in comfortable layers to support movement and stillness.

Stephanie Heit is a poet, dancer, and teacher of somatic writing, Contemplative Dance Practice, and Kundalini Yoga. She lives with bipolar disorder and is a member of the Olimpias, an international disability performance collective.
