Highland Christian Center presents a musical tribute to longtime Pastor Rev. Dr. W.G Hardy Jr. Portland's dynamic man of God, community leader and senior pastor at Highland Christian Center was diagnosed with clear cell cancer in 2014. After surgery in 2015, he was told he only had six months to live.

Thanks to a generous donation, he was able to enroll in Cancer Centers of America, in Phoenix, Arizona, where he received a grueling regimen of immunotherapy. A year later, Hardy still makes trips back to Phoenix, but he's back in his pulpit on Sunday mornings, preaching even stronger than before.

Proceeds from the tribute night will be donated to the Pastor Hardy Medical Fund; tickets are $15.00.

Performers will include Participants include: HCC Men of Valor, WGH Chorale, The Hardy Family, Derrick McDuffey and Kingdom Sound with soloists Saeeda Wright and Alonzo Chadwick including emcee for the evening Elder Sam Townsend of Seattle, Washington. Other special performers include Maiesha McQueen and Darius Smith from the cast of 'His Eye is on the Sparrow,' Andre Flynn of Portland Opera, and Lessie Williams. The night of instrumental music, including, gospel, contemporary and negro spirituals will take place on the set of The Armory's production of 'His Eye is on the Sparrow,' the musical story of the life of Ethel Waters.
