Portland Opera says
Join us for three evenings starting March 3 that features your favorite tunes from "The Great American Songbook" hosted by popular pre-performance speaker Bob Kingston with performances by Resident Artists Katrina Galka, Ian José Ramirez, Alexander Elliott, and special guests.

When six-year-old Frederick Austerlitz was launched on a vaudeville act with his older sister Adele, few could have imagined his triumphant eight-decade stage and film career. As Fred Astaire, he brought to onscreen life the music of the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, and many others. We salute his legacy in a performance of songs written for or introduced by him.

Enjoy a local microbrew or regional wine with a hearty bite from the Pacific Pie Company while tapping your toes to songs from the golden era of musicals and showtunes.
