The Facilitation Program supports personal and community voices in a wide range of interesting and challenging projects. We design and lead problem-solving meetings, public forums, strategic planning retreats, group mediations, multi-party Good Neighbor Agreements, and dialogues about challenging issues. We also provide trainings on effective group processes. Facilitation opportunities vary based on what is going on in the program at any given time. This program is a good fit for a volunteer who is motivated to jump on the opportunities that work for your interest and availability, to say no to opportunities that are not the right fit, to stay connected between projects, and to build more skills through the volunteer gatherings. There are opportunities to engage at all skill levels, though we do require that you have completed a basic mediation training or have prior experience in facilitation.

What you get:

Free admittance in our Artful Facilitation Training, newly expanded to 3 days to give more time for practice and discussion.
Volunteer facilitation opportunities to put your skills into action.
Support and mentorship to focus on where you want to grow as a facilitator. What we’d like you to contribute:
At least 30 hours on facilitation cases (observing, scribing, lead- or co-facilitating, pre- and post-meeting work, etc.).
Assist the Facilitation Program in growing more culturally competent and relevant to the communities we serve—through the skills and life experience you bring and/or your willingness to learn and grow in this area.

Application process:

Complete the application form by Sunday, September 13, 2015. (Late applications may be considered.)
We will review applications and select about 9 new volunteers.
Thursday, September 24 selected volunteers will be notified. If you have questions, email Theresa or give her a call at 503-595-4890 x111.
