Poet Laureate Park says
Poet Laureate Park was created to honor Sacramento's poets laureate -- Dennis Schmitz and Viola Weinberg, Jose Montoya, Julia Connor, Bob Stanley and Jeff Knorr (our current laureate) and was the idea of Julia Connor during her term.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Organization selected Truckee based artist Troy Corliss to design and install "Poet's Path, Circle of Laureates," sculptures with words (simply put) to honor each of the current and former laureates.

The installation began in March and has been completed and there will be a gala for poets and public art enthusiasts alike. The public is invited to the event that is presented by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Organization.
