Tahoe Rim Trail Backpacking says
This section of the Tahoe Rim Trail overlaps the Pacific Crest Trail that stretches from Mexico to Canada. The trip begins with a steep 2,000+ foot hill climb over the span of approximately 6+ miles. The intended first night’s camp at Showers Lake makes the trip well worth the effort. Nestled in a pine forest this hike boasts alpine scenery and on a clear day you may catch a glimpse of Lake Tahoe. The second day of the trip travels across more gradual terrain before a moderate decent to Big Meadow on the final day of the trek. This trip includes guides, equipment, transportation, and dinners. Minimum age is 12.
