Authentic Movement Practice with Jane Blount ~ at the NEW LOCATION ~ see Event Address.

Come . . . close your eyes . . . drop down into your breath, body, and innermost being in the monthly Authentic Movement practice. Can you surrender attachment, judgment, ego? Can you let curiosity be your guide? Can you let go of curiosity and allow what arises to arise? For nearly two years now, we’ve been building a strong container for deep inner work with this practice at Dance Church Encinitas. This Sunday we will be in a new space, what will this space offer? We will also reflect on the structure of the practice, the value of closed eyes, and the roles of mover/sounder and witness.

All are welcome! Please arrive early to be able to join the opening circle which starts at 9:45am. To keep our container strong doors will close at 10:00am, late comers will not be admitted. Authentic Movement speaks to people on many levels. Some come to nourish their body’s creaturely needs, others touch into places of personal history in need of healing, some (re)discover their playful nature, others come to surrender to the moment and welcome the unknown. The beauty of the practice is in its openness. More about the practice: Authentic Movement, an inward looking, eyes closed physical practice of self-inquiry and expression, has been used as a spiritual and artistic resource, and a supportive process for bodymind integration and healing since the 1960’s. In the receptive presence of an experienced witness, and with eyes closed, we turn our attention inward and move, following the impulses that arise from within. Stillness, sound, solitude or connection with others, subtle or large scale moving through space may all be part of the experience. There is no right or wrong way. The possibility of coming to know oneself more truthfully and compassionately lies at the heart of Authentic Movement. No prior movement experience is necessary. Wear loose, comfortable clothing; bring/wear layers to make sure you can be both warm and cool enough. You may wish to bring a journal and water to drink.Cost: $15 includes class and jam, which follows from 11:00am – 1:00pm
